I don&#039;t know of a single person who doesn&#039;t suffer from measuring their own progress or success against the clock or another person or some other benchmark.

In writing, there&#039;s a saying meant to free you from limiting your creativity: &quot;Write as if no one were ever going to read it.&quot;

Maybe that metaphor works in other areas of our lives too.
