I agree that clarity, conviction and passion are the three most important elements in any communication. All my language Communication Coaching is based on this.
In an elevator speech these "3 keys" to success are even more essential.
I totally agree with story telling. It is the magis that precede results.

Yes I always listen to folks in an elevator - what else is there to do? On a bus in NY last year I overheard a man telling his friend about this great massage therapist-I wrote down the information he passed to her about this fabulous thrapist whom I have seen

I used to teach elevator pitch in my class at HEC, and as Alain says: PASSION is the key component of the pitch. In class I would walk around with a digital voice recorder (with a timer in it) and surprise students who would have the opportunity to pitch to me "during the 30 second elevator ride". Students eventually relaxed and were better prepared with thought-through delivery - but what set the best apart from the rest, was belief in themselves, their idea, and the enthusiasm and passion that can't be faked.

Alain, It's so true... people will always remember a story... much more than the facts or a sales pitch.
Love your blog Alain... an inspiration for me to start one too!!! Cheers, Pat
